LA's 33 Strings Workshop!
Saturday, June 6th, 2026
LOS ANGELES, CA – LA’s 33 Strings, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and sharing the beauty of Japanese music, announces a special workshop to learn how to play the koto, shamisen, and shakuhachi. The event will be held at Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church (301 N. Orange Grove Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91103) on June 6, 2026 for two sessions (10:00-12:00, 1:00-3:00).
These special workshops will allow attendees to learn how to play the instruments, learn one song, and receive guidance from a member of LA’s 33 Strings. The instruments will be provided by LA’s 33 Strings as well and in collaboration with Eastside Arts Initiative.
Attendees will enjoy:
- Hands-on experience and learning
- Learn how to play one song
- One-on-One learning with a member of LA’s 33 Strings

This workshop is part of an ongoing effort to promote and introduce cross-cultural appreciation of the arts through traditional and modern Japanese music.
